I started my professional journey at the young age of 16, and have had several interesting positions. My first job was working at a gas station, then was hired on by a client of that gas station, delivering water softener salt into homes and businesses. Delivery is absolutely a "people-person" role, and having the gift of gab, I met many clients, including 3 who offered to help advance my career. At 17 I had a delivery to the home of a database design consultant and conversation started about my interest in computers and software, which lead to a position with his company helping design databases. While on another delivery to the local police department, I showed my interest in the 911 center I was offered a position as a 911 dispatcher.
The biggest turning point in my career journey was while still delivering salt, I had a delivery at a printing company on a Saturday afternoon, and was fortunate enough to meet the owner, during a brief discussion, I mentioned my interest in graphic design, software, and overall technology and computers, to which he responded with an opportunity for an interview. The next week I arrived for my interview and was hired on the spot.
This was a busy time in my life as I was a full-time college student, and now working 4 jobs... salt delivery, 911 dispatcher, database design, and now graphic designer. After working 6 months at the printing company, I knew were my passion was and I worked with my other employers to help find my replacements.
During my first few years at printing company I learned a lot. I wanted to learn everything about the company from graphic design to the manufacturing to the overall company administration. At only 18, I was honored that the owners offered me the opportunity learn all aspects of the business. I had a passion for helping the company grow and spearheaded several drastic changes that helped increased revenue by more than 2 million, in just a few short years. Though my time there, I worked tirelessly grow the company and to earn my way up the ladder to Vice President of Administration.
During a consultation with a new client, they inquired about our database / CRM system. This was a system that I developed internally, and their interest peaked. Over the next 9 months that company courted me to work for them.
Although I loved my family at the printing company, after 15 years, my passion for learning and helping grow companies lead me to take on a position with my once client.
I possess a sharp eye for detail, which I use to find even the smallest errors in text. I work well under pressure and can produce high-quality work in short periods of time. I have strong interpersonal skills and work with a wide variety of people.
I am looking for an opportunity to work with a team that runs on clear communication.I want to align myself with a company I believe in and where I can create positive change. I am always looking to learn more and am open to taking on challenging projects.
